Classroom Management

Classroom Management is required to create a safe, active learning environment in which all students have the opportunity to achieve greatness and master all of their goals. Keeping the classroom a place in which students can feel safe and secure, while experiencing a distraction-free learning environment is the ultimate goal of a classroom management plan.

My own classroom management strategy is reflective of my belief that an orderly classroom can be a fun classroom as well. I am a practitioner of positive reinforcement, encouraging students to behave by offering them extra responsibilities, verbal praise, and even extra credit in certain circumstances. Bad behavior is best avoided by promoting a fun, engaging learning environment.

Here you will find my Classroom Management Plan, in which I detail some of my best practices and procedures. Below, I have the beginnings of a letter I designed to go home with students on my first day of school. It gives an insight into my approach to classroom behavior and my responsibilities as a teacher.
